What are the different ticket categories for The Open?

All attendees regardless of age require a ticket to attend The Open. All tickets for The Open must be applied for via the Ticket Ballot, including complimentary Junior and Carer tickets. More information about the Ticket Ballot can be found here.



The different ticket categories are Junior, Youth and Adult.  We also provide complimentary Carer tickets for those who need to attend accompanied by a carer. More information about Carer tickets can be found here.


Junior Tickets

The R&A is dedicated to ensuring the future of golf is thriving therefore we offer complimentary Junior tickets for those aged under 16 (as of the first day of the championship). However, all juniors must have a valid course admission ticket in order to attend The Open and must be accompanied by an Adult or Youth ticket holder.


Youth Tickets

Discounted Youth tickets are available for those aged 16 to 24, to be eligible for this ticket category the ticket holder must be aged 24 or below (as of the first day of the championship). 


Adult Tickets

Adult tickets are available for those aged over 24.


No tickets will be available on the day and all tickets must be purchased in advance of attending The Open.
