Can I buy tickets for The Open?

The 155th Open at Royal Birkdale


All tickets for The 154th Open must be purchased in advance, there will no no tickets available at the gates on on the day. Please read below about the different options available.


Tickets


Tickets for The 155th Open at Royal Birkdale were available to request via the Public Ticket Ballot. The applications period of the Ticket Ballot for The 155th Open at St Andrews closed at 3 PM UK Time on Friday 24 July. 


The R&A will launch a Ticket Resale Platform for The 155th Open in 2027. This will be a place for those who got tickets through the Ticket Ballot but can no longer attend to offer their tickets for sale to other members of One Club. Information about the Ticket Resale Platform will be published here.


Ticket Plus

Through Ticket Plus you will enjoy access to Links, a specially designed area that brings a relaxed festival vibe and exclusive food and beverage options while keeping you close to the on-course action. Watch the world’s best players from dedicated viewing platforms strategically placed around the course, offering outstanding views and vantage points. With undercover and outdoor seating back at base, you can walk the course at ease and head back to refuel whenever you like.


With Ticket Plus now sold out on Championship Days, you can join the waiting list to be first in line should anything additional become available.

The Open Experiences Destination Packages

Ticket Resale Platform

The Ticket Resale Platform is a service offered by The R&A where One Club members who got tickets through the Ticket Ballot, or fans who purchased Ticket Plus tickets via The Open website or The Open Experiences, can offer any unwanted tickets for sale at face value to other members of One Club. 


Information about the Ticket Resale Platform for The 155th Open will be published in 2027.


Third-Party Resale

Please note that The R&A does not permit the resale of tickets on third-party websites.


Please note that The R&A does not permit the resale of tickets on third-party websites, ticket sales platforms or marketplaces. This means that any tickets being sold on any third-party ticket resale sites or public marketplaces are being sold without the R&A's consent.

 

The R&A maintains a strong position that it is against our Terms and Conditions to sell tickets on public forums, third-party sites or for excess of the original face value of the ticket. Any tickets identified for sale or found to have been sold in such a manner are subject to cancellation without refund.  


Future Open Championships


The 156th Open


A world class venue steeped in history, Royal Lytham and St Annes will stage The Open for the 12th time in 2028. This marks a return to the famous Fylde links for the first time since Ernie Els lifted the Claret Jug in 2012, and comes just over a century after legendary American amateur Bobby Jones won on the Championship's first visit.

Fans interested in Destination Packages at The 156th Open can purchase a Priority Access Pass now. A Priority Access Pass is a refundable deposit which allows fans to be the first to choose from a range of ticket-inclusive packages for The 156th Open in Royal Lytham & St Annes when they become available. Fans who hold a Priority Access Pass will be contacted first to secure their ticket and accommodation and their £99 deposit will be removed from the price of the package.
