Can I buy tickets for The Open?

The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale


All tickets for The 154th Open must be purchased in advance, there will no no tickets available at the gates on on the day. Please read below about the different options available.


Classic (General Admission) Tickets


Classic General Admission tickets for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale were available to request via the Public Ticket Ballot. The applications period of the Ticket Ballot for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale closed at 3 PM UK Time on Friday 25 July. Tickets are not available for purchase outside the Ticket Ballot process. Classic tickets will not be available for purchase on the day. 


Select Tickets

For those who want a little bit more from their day at The Open, guarantee your place at Royal Birkdale with Select. Skip the Ticket Ballot. Enjoy Links, the private area and spend your included food voucher at the gourmet food trucks. Perched at the heart of The Open, this will be the perfect base for your day. The Open Experiences

Fans can choose to bypass the Ticket Ballot and guarantee the best views and experiences at Royal Birkdale with The Open Experiences. Ticket Resale Platform

The Ticket Resale Platform is a service offered by The R&A where One Club members who got Classic tickets through the Ticket Ballot, or fans who purchased Select tickets via The Open website or The Open Experiences, can offer any unwanted tickets for sale at face value to other members of One Club. 


The Ticket Resale Platform will launch in early 2026. Please see here for further information.


Third-Party Resale

Please note that The R&A does not permit the resale of tickets on third-party websites.


Please note that The R&A does not permit the resale of tickets on third-party websites, ticket sales platforms or marketplaces. This means that any tickets being sold on any third-party ticket resale sites or public marketplaces are being sold without the R&A's consent.

 

The R&A maintains a strong position that it is against our Terms and Conditions to sell tickets on public forums, third-party sites or for excess of the original face value of the ticket. Any tickets identified for sale or found to have been sold in such a manner are subject to cancellation without refund.  


Future Open Championships


The 155th Open


The world's best players will return to the home of golf for The 155th Open in 2027. St Andrews will stage the Championship for the 31st time, five years after Cameron Smith triumphed in front of record crowds at The 150th Open.


You can register your interest in attending and you'll receive ticketing information and updates.


2028 Onwards


Information about tickets to future Open Championships will be made available on our website and to One Club members when available. If you are not already a member, we would recommend joining One Club (our free online membership), which you can do here.
