Are tickets available on third-party websites?

Modified on Mon, 7 Oct at 4:52 PM

All tickets for The Open must be purchased through one of the R&A’s official ticket channels. These include

  • The Open Ticket Ballot which is accepting applications until Wednesday July 31. Instructions on how to enter the Ticket Ballot are available here.
  • The Ticket Resale Platform for The 153rd Open. Information about the Resale Platform for The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush will be available following the conclusion of the Ticket Ballot ballot process.
  • From one of our Authorised Providers (see below).

Third-Party Ticket Resale Platforms and Marketplaces

The R&A does not permit the resale of tickets on third-party websites, ticket sales platforms or marketplaces. This means that any tickets being sold on any third-party ticket resale sites or public marketplaces are being sold without the R&A's consent. Adult general admission tickets for The Open range in price from £25 - £130. Click here for a list of face-value prices.

Any general admission tickets being sold for higher than the prices above are not authorised by The R&A and may not be genuine tickets.

The R&A maintains a strong position that it is against our Terms and Conditions to sell tickets on public forums, third-party sites or for excess of the original face value of the ticket. Any tickets identified for sale or found to have been sold in such a manner are subject to cancellation without refund.

Authorised Providers

Please note that while the third-party resale of tickets is not permitted, the R&A partners with a select number of companies who are authorised to sell official hospitality and ticket packages to The Open, often in conjunction with a range of other experiences (including, for example, travel, accommodation and golf tee times). These companies are known as Authorised Providers and a list of them can be found here.
