How do I buy tickets on the Ticket Resale Platform?

Access to buy tickets on the Ticket Resale Platform will be made available to One Club members over the coming days. All One Club members with access to the platform can purchase tickets listed for sale on the Ticket Resale Platform. Access to the Ticket Resale Platform will require a One Club account. If you do not have a One Club account, you will need to create one here.


Please note that as this is a peer-to-peer platform, the availability of tickets depends on existing ticket holders listing them for sale. Fans can purchase a maximum of four tickets per day for The Open.


Please also note that a Buyer's Fee totalling 5% of the purchaser's basket cost will be added at the time of payment. This fee contributes to The R&A's initiatives. 


To access the Ticket Resale Platform, please follow the steps below:


Access the Ticket Resale Platform

If you are using a PC/Mac:

  1. Navigate to TheOpen.com.

  2. If you are not already signed in, sign in using your One Club email and password by clicking the MY ACCOUNT link at the top-right of the page.

  3. After signing in, click your name and select 'My Account' from the drop-down menu.

  4. Navigate to the Ticket Resale Platform page using the menu to the left of the screen.


If you are using a Mobile Device:

  1. Navigate to TheOpen.com.

  2. If you are not already signed in, sign in using your One Club email and password by clicking the MY ACCOUNT link at the top-right of the page.

  3. After signing in, click on the silhouette of a person at the top-right of the page.

  4. Navigate to the Ticket Resale Platform page accessing the light blue My account menu at the top-left of the screen and choosing Ticket Resale Platform.


Buy Tickets:

  1. Access the platform, using the ‘BUY TICKETS’ button within the My Account page.

    If you cannot see the blue BUY TICKETS link, you may not yet have access to buy tickets. Unsuccessful Ticket Ballot applicants have first access to buy tickets.
  2. Navigate to the day that you wish to attend and click the yellow BUY button.

    If you cannot see the yellow BUY button, there are no tickets listed for sale for that day.
  3. Choose the tariff of ticket you wish to purchase by clicking the yellow SELECT button.

  4. On the next page, you will see the tickets you have chosen. Click Continue Shopping to return to the list of days, or select the yellow BUY NOW button to proceed to the Order Summary Page.

  5. On the Order Summary page, please check that your ticket selection and address are correct. To proceed, you must agree with the Terms and Conditions of sale by checking the checkbox. At this stage you can cancel your order or proceed to payment.

  6. A window will appear informing you about the service fee for purchasing tickets on the Ticket Resale Platform. You must confirm whether you wish to continue by clicking the yellow Continue button. For more information about why The R&A charges a service fee, click here.

  7. Please enter your payment details. Payment can be made using a VISA or Mastercard credit or debit card, or by Apple Pay. Please note, other cards such as AMEX or Diner's Club are not accepted. After entering your details, click the yellow PAY NOW button to proceed.

What tickets can I buy on the Ticket Resale Platform?

Adult and Youth tariff General Admission and full-price Ticket Plus tickets are available for purchase on the Ticket Resale Platform. 


Complimentary Junior and Carer General Admission and discounted Carer Ticket Plus tickets are not available on the Resale Platform. 


Please note, any Youth General Admission tickets purchased on the Ticket Resale Platform can be upgraded to Adult General Admission tickets. If you wish to upgrade a Youth ticket to the Adult ticket, please use the Contact Us form to make an upgrade request, and one of our customer service team will respond to you to assist you further.

Why is there a Service Fee when buying tickets?

One Club members purchasing tickets via the Ticket Resale Platform will be charged a service fee equalling 5% of the total value of the purchaser's basket at the time of purchase. All tickets sold via the Ticket Resale Platform are sold at face value. The Service Fee helps to support The R&A's purpose to open golf to the world, and to get more people playing and engaging with the sport more frequently worldwide.


Can I resell tickets I bought on the Ticket Resale Platform?

No, all ticket sales on the Ticket Resale Platform are final. Tickets purchased via the Ticket Resale Platform cannot be relisted for sale or refunded. Click here for more detailed information. 


How will I know if my purchase is successful?

One Club members will receive a confirmation email with an attached invoice detailing any tickets they have purchased from the Ticket Resale Platform. Please ensure to check your spam folder if you cannot see this email. If this email does not arrive within an hour of a purchase attempt, your purchase has been unsuccessful.


When will I receive my tickets?

Tickets for The 154th Open will be delivered digitally via a smart phone application, The Open Tickets app, 6-8 weeks prior to the Championship. Click here for more information.

If you continue to experience difficulty accessing the Resale Platform, please try to access the Resale Platform again:


  1. From a different device
  2. From a private browser
  3. After clearing your internet cookies and cache.


Please note, the ability to list tickets for sale on the Ticket Resale Platform is available only to Successful Ticket Ballot applicants and those who purchased Ticket Plus. If you are in this category, please ensure you are logged in to the same One Club account which was used to enter the ballot.

I cannot see any tickets for sale on the Ticket Resale Platform

The availability of tickets on the Ticket Resale Platform depends on existing ticket holders listing them for sale. We are unable to guarantee when tickets will be listed, and we therefore advise checking the Resale Platform regularly to maximise your chances of securing the tickets you are seeking. The Resale Platform will remain open throughout the Championship for the purchase of tickets.


I am having difficulty purchasing tickets on the Ticket Resale Platform

In some instances, when the demand for tickets on the Ticket Resale Platform is very high, two fans may select the same tickets at the same time. Unfortunately, this may result in the selected tickets being unavailable. If this situation occurs, please refresh the resale platform and attempt to purchase tickets again.


If you have attempted to purchase a ticket on the Resale Platform and your payment has not been successful, there many be a pending transaction showing on your payment card for a short time after this payment attempt. In instances where payments are not successful, fans are not debited; any pending financial transactions will be cleared.
