ScotRail will be supporting travel to and from St Andrews throughout the Championship, with additional train services and increased capacity operating on key routes during the Championship period. Leuchars is the nearest railway station to St Andrews and is served by regular ScotRail services from across Scotland.

A dedicated shuttle bus service will operate between Leuchars Station and the Championship venue, with services running up to every five minutes during peak periods.

As trains are expected to be busier than usual during the Championship, passengers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey. Timetables and service information will be available closer to the event via the ScotRail app and website.

From Edinburgh Airport

Spectators can take the tram from the airport to Haymarket Station, then board a train towards Dundee or Aberdeen and alight at Leuchars Station, the nearest railway station to St Andrews. From Leuchars, there will be a dedicated shuttle bus service to the Championship venue.

From Glasgow Airport

Those arriving at Glasgow Airport can take the Glasgow Airport Express Service 500 to Glasgow West George Street, just a short walk from Glasgow Queen Street Station. From there passengers can board a train to Haymarket Station in Edinburgh before changing onto a service towards Dundee or Aberdeen. Spectators can alight at Leuchars Station, the nearest railway station to St Andrews, and continue their journey on the dedicated shuttle bus service to the Championship venue.

By Road

Stagecoach is the operator of an express network that provides links to St Andrews from Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as local links such as Dunfermline, Cupar and Glenrothes. All Stagecoach services stop at St Andrews Bus Station, which is approximately a five minute walk from the golf course.

Stagecoach's Jet 787 service provides a direct link between Edinburgh Airport and St Andrews. The service runs every two hours throughout the day, providing passengers with a connection to St Andrews Bus Station in around 90 minutes.

Visitors travelling from Glasgow can also reach St Andrews by bus from Buchanan bus station, on Stagecoach's hourly X24 service. This service runs up to every hour, seven days a week, taking around three hours.

In addition, Stagecoach runs regular services to St Andrews from destinations across the east of Scotland including Dundee, Perth, Leven, Glenrothes, Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. St Andrews is also part of the local public bus network with access to many local accommodation hubs.

Moffat & Williamson is the operator of the 64 service, which connects St Andrews to Cupar, Strathkinness, Pittscottie, Ceres, Craigrothie, Ladybank, Auchtermuchty, Falkland, Freuchie and Glenrothes, and the 77 service, which connects St Andrews to Leuchars, Balmullo, Tayport, Newport, Wormit and Gauldry. Services will stop at St Marys Place outside the students union, which is approximately a ten minute walk to the venue entrance.

The Go-Flexi taxibus connects rural areas of Fife that aren’t serviced by public bus routes.
