Can I cycle to The Open?

Modified on Fri, 02 Feb 2024 at 03:08 PM

National Cycle Route 7 (NCR7) runs right past Royal Troon Golf Club and links to Prestwick, Ayr, Irvine and Kilwinning. National Cycle Route 73 links Kilmarnock to Ardrossan and connects with NCR7 in Irvine to join the route to and from Troon.

A free cycle park will be provided close to the main public entrance to The 152nd Open. Please follow the blue cycle route signage to Troon on NCR7 then look out for signs for Bicycle Parking on approach to The Open.

Please use the free cycle park and do not lock bicycles to perimeter fencing as they may be removed for security reasons. For further information on the cycle network in the local area, please visit the Sustrans website.
