There will be no public car parking at the Old Course in St Andrews or in the immediate surrounding area. All public parking will be located at The Open Park & Ride facilities, where dedicated buses will be available to transport spectators to the course.
Spectators choosing to travel to the Championship venue by car or motorcycle will be directed to The Open Park & Ride sites by Variable Messaging Signs (VMS) and specific black and yellow event signs provided by The AA.
Park & Ride facilities are designed to minimise congestion around the course by reducing the number of vehicles accessing St Andrews and the surrounding area, however traffic volumes will still be higher than normal during the week of The Open so please allow extra time for your journey.
Please note overnight parking is not permitted at The Open Park & Ride facilities.
Directions
Fans are advised to turn off satellite navigation systems and follow the appropriate signage to ensure the smoothest journey to and from The Open.
From Aberdeen/ Dundee
Follow the A90 southbound towards Dundee. Continue south on the A92 Tay Road Bridge and follow signs for The Open Park and Ride.
From Inverness/ Perth
Follow the A9 to Perth. At/around Perth, follow signs for the A912 (Bridge of Earn/Cupar). Join the A913 towards Newburgh. Continue through Lindores on the A913 and follow signs for The Open Park and Ride.
From the west
Follow the M8 east and then the M876/M80 towards Stirling/Falkirk. Travel towards Kincardine and join the A977 northbound to Kinross. Join the M90 northbound exiting at junction 8 onto the A91. Continue on the A91 through Cupar and follow signs for The Open Park and Ride.
From the south
Join the M90 northbound and utilising the Queensferry Crossing, cross the Firth of Forth. Continue north on the M90 and exit at junction 2A following the A92 towards Kirkcaldy/Glenrothes. At the Preston Roundabout, take the third exit onto the A911 towards Markinch/Kennoway/Windygates. At Windygates, join the A915 towards Leven/Lundin Links and St Andrews and follow signs for The Open Park and Ride.
