How can I transfer a ticket?

Ticket purchasers can securely send their tickets for The Open to guests by using the transfer function in The Open Tickets app. Tickets can be transferred at any time prior to entering The Open.


Only the original purchaser of a ticket can transfer it to another person. Recipients of tickets which have been transferred to them only have the option to return transferred tickets.


To transfer a ticket on The Open Tickets app, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open the app and log in.
  2. Open the ticket you wish to transfer.
  3. Click the Send your ticket button
  4. Select the ticket recipient option under Steps to follow.
  5. Select the recipient from your contact list within the app, or if the recipient isn't in your contact list, enter their email address and click the add button.
  6. Double check the email address is correct, and click the yellow Send button.


Please note, if you wish to send multiple tickets at once (maximum of five), you can click "+ Select more tickets to send"

 

If a ticket is transferred to a fan that has not used the app before, they will receive an email to invite them to download The Open Tickets app. They should log in using the same email address the invitation was sent to.


If a ticket is transferred to a fan that already has the app, they will receive a notification once the ticket is available on their app.


In the “Transfers” tab, you will find a list of all tickets sent and received, including the name of the sender or recipient.
