Larne is the closest port to Royal Portrush Golf Club with passenger ferry services direct from Scotland.
P&O Ferries operates the shortest, fastest and most frequent Irish Sea crossings, from Cairnryan to Larne in just two hours. There are both public transport and car hire options available at Larne for passengers travelling without a vehicle. Royal Portrush Golf Club is approximately 52 miles (83 km) away from Larne Port.

There is an existing shuttle service in Belfast from the cruise terminal into the City. Individuals can arrange their own onward plans. Cruise passengers should make arrangements with your cruise line (note: some lines will charge,e and some may ask you to arrange your own payment directly).
Enquiries to use Portrush harbour as an entry point to The Open must be directed to the Harbour Office. Persons arriving at the harbour will need to make their own way to the event from the harbour. The most efficient means of travel will be on foot from this point.
Crossing the Border
Citizens of the UK and The Republic of Ireland do not need any special documentation to cross the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland as both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland sit within the Common Travel Area.
Citizens of other nations are advised to check with their own representatives about the requirements for crossing the border between The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
