I missed the Ticket Ballot application deadline, what can I do?

Modified on Wed, 6 Aug at 3:51 PM

Applications for the Ticket Ballot for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale are now closed.

Royal Birkdale will welcome the world’s best golfers for The 154th Open in 2026. Golf’s original championship will return to the venue for the first time since Jordan Spieth’s dramatic victory at The 146th Open seven years ago – and you can guarantee even more magical moments in the quest for the Claret Jug this time around.

Ticket Ballot applications were open to all members of One Club, The R&A’s free-to-join digital membership platform, designed to bring golf fans closer to the game. Fans could also upgrade to One Club Advantage presented by Mastercard for an enhanced chance of success in the Ticket Ballot. The Ticket Ballot application period began on Monday 30 June and ended at 3PM (UK time) on Friday 25 July.

Select Tickets

For those who want a little bit more from their day at The Open, guarantee your place at Royal Birkdale with Select. Enjoy Links, the private area and spend your included food voucher at the gourmet food trucks. Perched at the heart of The Open, this will be the perfect base for your day.

The Open Experiences

A new range of premium hospitality experiences are also available to purchase now, giving fans the chance to guarantee their place at the Championship. For the first time ever, The R&A is making it easier for fans to be part of golf’s original major with new Destination Packages, allowing fans to select accommodation and travel options alongside their ticket.

For more information about Select, The Open Experiences or Destination Packages, please use the links above or contact The Open Experiences team by email at Experiences@TheOpen.com or on the phone at +44(0)1334 460 090.

Ticket Resale Platform

There may be an opportunity to purchase additional tickets. Following the success of the Ticket Resale Platform for the past four Open Championships, we will be launching a Ticket Resale Platform for The 154th Open in early 2026.

This platform has been designed by The R&A to allow successful Ticket Ballot winners who cannot attend to list their unwanted tickets for sale at face-value price in an official, safe, secure, and trusted environment. Members of One Club will be invited to purchase any listed tickets in the new year.

Third-Party Resale

Please note that The R&A does not permit the resale of tickets on third-party websites, ticket sales platforms or marketplaces. This means that any tickets being sold on any third-party ticket resale sites or public marketplaces are being sold without the R&A's consent. Adult Classic tickets for The Open range in price from £30 - £150.

Any tickets being sold for higher than the prices above are not authorised by The R&A and may not be genuine tickets.

The R&A maintains a strong position that it is against our Terms and Conditions to sell tickets on public forums, third-party sites or for excess of the original face value of the ticket. Any tickets identified for sale or found to have been sold in such a manner are subject to cancellation without refund.
