The 156th Open - Royal Lytham & St Annes 2028

A world class venue steeped in history, Royal Lytham and St Annes will stage The Open for the 12th time in 2028. This marks a return to the famous Fylde links for the first time since Ernie Els lifted the Claret Jug in 2012, and comes just over a century after legendary American amateur Bobby Jones won on the Championship's first visit.

The Open Experiences is The R&A’s ticket and accommodation programme for The Open, giving fans a new and unique way to experience the Championship. In 2028, The Open will return to Royal Lytham & St Annes – 16 years since this famous old course last hosted golf’s original championship.
