Prohibited Items


The following items are prohibited. Any persons found in possession of such items will be in breach of the conditions of entry and will not be admitted to the venue. 

  1. Steps, stepladders, crates or other items that may be used to stand on; 
  2. Folding chairs of any description (single stem shooting sticks are permitted);
  3. Bicycles (These can be secured in the designated cycle parking areas);
  4. Oversized Bags (Please see restrictions on left luggage);
  5. Fireworks or any pyrotechnic device; 
  6. Remote drones or similar radio controlled equipment; 
  7. ‘Selfie-sticks’ and periscope devices; 
  8. Noise making equipment of any type;
  9. Offensive weapons or other items where possession may be a criminal offence; 
  10. Alcohol and containers suspected of containing alcohol;
  11. Glass bottles and any other glass drinking vessels;
  12. Dogs other than service dogs (all dogs are prohibited from areas near play)
  13. Photography - Video recording is prohibited at all times. No flash photography is allowed but still photography is permitted provided it does not disrupt play and is not used for commercial purposes (The R&A will retain copyright over the reproduction of any images);
  14. Any other item that may represent a threat to the safety of any other person, items that breach copyright, unauthorised merchandise, banners, posters and other articles without the specific written consent of The R&A.
